BE Therapeutics is an early stage biotech startup that is developing technology to engineer functional brain tissue, which can be used to replace age-related damage.  BE's tissue and methodologies will be used in pre-clinical and clinical applications. The initial focus is on replacing damaged neocortical tissue, followed by other brain areas.

Rather than try and re-invent the wheel, the technology at BE is inspired by how our human brains first developed in the fetus. A simple sheet of neocortical stem cells, with the proper cues and structure, will generate mature tissue after transplantation that will encode useful information for the recipient.
